Heya! New to Houston and am going to Dragon*Con next week in Atlanta, doing some steampunk cosplay with friends from up North. Any other Houstonian steampunkers going to be there?

I'm thinking of going to Dickens on The Strand this year, since I missed it last year.

Is it acceptable to wear steampunk attire to the event?

I'm glad to find this community (though I'm actually a transplant from Florida as of 10 months ago), though it doesn't seem to be very active.

Still, I'm glad it exists, nonetheless!

Being 'new' to the area still, since I don't get out a whole lot as a jobless student, what are local events that might be accepting to wearing steam fashions to? A picnic or get together would be fun, if there isn't anything official. ^_^

Hello and welcome! [Aug. 3rd, 2008|10:02 am]

Greetings Fellows and Welcome to the Consortium!

I am Colonial Augustus Tideswell of Her Majesty's Chronoexploration Corps. I a bid you felicitations and good tidings. I have created this thread on the Aethernet to bring together those of us who have been displaced in this time and iteration of reality. It is my wish that we might gather together and explore the possibilities and discuss our various roles and missions that might have brought us here.

It is my further aim that we might undertake use of one of various time displacement devices and thusly explore different eras of this particular timeline. I personally find its deviation from mine own timeline quite intriguing! I mean seriously who would have though that society could have developed without the aid of Lord Babbage?!!!

I digress. Once again, welcome. I hope to be seeing many of you in the near future.

With Great Sincerity,

Col. Augustus Tideswell
